Designed specifically for the iPhone, ShopSmarter is a free price comparison, shopping list, and price alert app.
A Wikipedia of prices, ShopSmarter is price comparison tool. With it, people can share prices with other people. When input a UPC code, the app will prompt for the price you found for a Batman Begins DVD. After you input the price, the app will display lowest online price, lowest local price, and closest place that carries that item. By individuals checking prices to compare them, a database will be built up to feed these prices to people.
ShopSmarter is also a shopping list app. We will be building in the ability to add products from the UPC screen to shopping lists. ShopSmarter will also allow you to share these shopping list with other people by email. Later we will be adding a mandatory user accounts
ShopSmarter is a price alert app. If you want those Salsa Doritos, but not at $5 a bag, you can setup an alert from the price comparison screen. Currently, the alert will support a fixed price threshold. So if the Doritos goes below $3, the app will be alerted.
